Favorite Places to Eat in New York City
Lunch & Dinner Spots
-
Thai Villa
The best restaurant on this list tbh. If you like Thai food you cannot miss this. The restaurant vibes were also great, and I would get a reservation in advance!
-
Emily West Village
Known for their square deep dish pizza, but I ordered the “famous” double stack burger. Everything was delicious
-
Johns of Bleecker Street
Best pizza in the city. Highly recommend the meat lovers or pepperoni, but plain cheese is also amazing and flavorful enough on its own
-
Momoya
I’m still on the hunt for the best sushi in NYC, but Momoya’s crispy rice roll was definitely a stand out
-
Carbone
Overpriced? Absolutely. However, worth the visit if you can get a reservation just for the experience. The spicy rigatoni is delicious, but not as good as everyone hypes it up for
-
Lil Frankies
I thought this pasta was better than Carbone. The cutest family owned Italian with a variety of menu options, but heads up, its cash only!
-
Tacombi
Order the corn esquite. You’re welcome
-
Joes Steam Rice Roll
I had never had a rice roll before this but now I’m hooked. A great spot in China town for a quick lunch thats relatively cheap!
-
Pisillo Italian Panini
The biggest sandwich i’ve ever come across, but so delicious. Authentic Italian Paninis in FiDi that can easily be shared or make two meals out of one!
-
Golden Unicorn
Some of the best dumplings & orange chicken I’ve had! Menu is huge and served family style
Must Have Desserts
-
Caffè Panna
A tik tok follower recommended this to me and oh my god. The best gelato I’ve ever had, and the panna on top was incredible. They have fun flavors and their menu changes weekly - HIGHLY recommend a visit.
-
Levain Bakery
Famous for a reason. This chocolate chip cookie changed me. Its so flavorful, perfect balance of chocolate and dough. Make sure they warm it up!
-
Black Tap Shakes
These shakes were INSANE. Long wait but worth it for the fun experience and the shake actually tasted so good, I was afraid it would be average
-
Mikey Likes It Ice Cream
Fresh made warm waffle ice cream sandwich. Also a black owned business. Don’t know what more you could want!
-
Ample Hills Creamery
Ample Hills gave handels a run for their money. Fun and unique flavors to choose from, and creamy is certainly the best way to describe it. So thick and delicious!
-
Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
Such a fun dessert experience in Chinatown. Choose from one of their pre made creations or make your own - they blend your favorite cereal and top it with whatever you’d like!
-
Magnolia Bakery
Everyone raves about the Banana pudding. I liked it, but I prefer chocolately flavors, so the limited February chocolate covered strawberry flavor was the stand out for me!
-
Eileen's Special Cheesecake
Got the red velvet, perfect individual size and so flavorful. Dare I say extremely moist
-
Chip City Cookies
Thought these were a bit overhyped but still good. Menu changes weekly and they have a good variety of flavors, plus multiple locations across the city makes them easy to get!
-
Maman Bakery
Couldn’t try their chocolate chip because it had nuts, but the oatmeal raisin was so good!
-
Milk Bar
I thought Milk & Cream was better, but I do love their corn flake crunch
Bagels!
-
Tompkins Square
Well worth the long line, out does any other bagels in the city. The Bacon Egg & Cheese on an everything is a standout, but love the french toast bagel too!
-
Liberty Bagels
Fresh and delicious bagels with fun color and flavor options. I LOVE their french toast bagel with blueberry cream cheese (more than the one at Tompkins!)
-
Ess-a-Bagel
Still a solid option, but go to Tompkins or Liberty if you can!
